Preparing For Caring Workshop
March 13 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Caring for someone in their later years is an experience like no other. If we set aside all the emotional aspects, we can get down to practical hints and ideas which can help the process along the way. Being prepared, knowing what’s possible and what you might face helps you manage your caring role for as long as you need to. It also reminds you that you are not alone and that you need to keep a strong network of support around you. The workshop provides you with practical ideas to be prepared and manage the caring role better.
Julie Cheney – is a registered nurse with many years’ experience in community nursing, nurse education and aged care education. Julie has cared for people in all sorts of situations from the best-case scenarios to the absolute worst. In previous roles, she has worked with and managed projects to support better aged care nursing, advanced care planning and palliative care for clients with dementia across a range of care settings. Julie now manages her own business providing a broad range of support to older people wherever they need it.
