Keeping the volunteer spirit alive in the Launceston community, Volunteering Services Australia’s Tasmania outreach will be holding their annual International Volunteer Day Celebrations.
A celebratory morning tea will be held at the TasTafe Alanvale Campus on December 5, 2018 from 10 am – 11:30 am.
“Over the last 12 months Volunteering Services Australia has assisted 380 individuals in finding volunteering roles for organisations across Tasmania. This International Volunteer Day, we want to commemorate these volunteers for their time and dedication to giving back to the community,” said Sue Musgraves, Community Engagement Officer for Volunteering Services Australia – Tasmania.
Phil Beeston, General Manager of the Launceston Architectural Firm, S. Group, will be a guest speaker at the event, discussing the S. Group’s vision to positively impact our communities both locally in Tasmania and also globally as well as present information and photos of their active involvement in community projects.
Local member organisations and their volunteers will also be in attendance, including organisations such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Launceston Community Care, Conservation Australia, Masonic Care, Launceston VFC Services as well as a representative from the Launceston City Council.
