Ipswich Volunteering Community Reaches New Heights

Celebrations are high in the Volunteering Community as volunteering reaches new heights. Volunteering Services Australia (VSA) has launched their West Moreton office.  Located at the City of Ipswich chambers, the new location solidifies the sustainability for the West Moreton region and the volunteering sector.

Jennifer Howard MP, Assistant Minister of State, Assisting the Premier, spoke at the launch about the valuable work of VSA in the community of West Moreton and the wonderful contribution volunteers make to the community.

Penelope Hodge, Manager of VSA was thrilled to open the new Volunteer Resource Centre in Ipswich. “This launch is a celebration of all the wonderful work community organisations and volunteers are doing in their local area” said Penelope.

“VSA is excited to provide a centre focused on the recruitment, management, retention and training of volunteers in the City of Ipswich” said Penelope.

Organisations that VSA support in the West Moreton Area include:

  • Ipswich Hospice Care Inc.
  • Able Australia
  • Ipswich City Council
  • Goodna Services Club
  • Goodna Community Association
  • Beaucare
  • PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Club)

The new Volunteer Resource Centre provides initiatives that include volunteer services, not-for-profit membership services, workshops and corporate partnerships. VSA’s expansion of services will yield the West Moreton Region lasting benefits.

Volunteering Services Australia is an initiative of Volunteering Gold Coast. It is the largest volunteer resource centre in Australia and is in the top three community transport operators in the country. It has outreach programs across the Gold Coast, West Moreton and Launceston, Tasmania.
